Due to cooperation with the Olympic Casino Latvia, in 2020 the Mobile Health Care Centre (MHCC) received a donation of 7783 EUR, obtained from donation boxes in the gaming halls and casino. The money will allow providing medical consultations to 300 children in nearby and remote regions of Latvia.

The main mission of the Mobile Health Care Centre, in cooperation with the doctors of the Children's Clinical University Hospital, is to make services more accessible to children throughout Latvia, especially in its remote rural areas where children have difficulty accessing urgent medical care due to lack of medical specialists or other reasons.

Without the necessary procedures and regular health check-ups, these children are at risk of acute cases of exacerbating chronic diseases and developing serious, long-term illnesses. Some diseases are not detected in time and become severe, difficult and expensive to treat, which can have consequences for the child’s later life.

The Mobile Health Care Centre is the only such large-scale charity programme in Latvia and provides a pediatric ophthalmologist, ENT specialist, allergist - pulmonologist, neurologist, endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, micro-speech specialist, physiotherapist, dermatologist and orthopaedist.

Since 2011, more than 40,000 children have been examined and given free medical consultations. On average, MHCC provides 400 consultations per month and makes 100 visits to approximately 40 locations in Latvia each year.

Consultations take place in a vehicle that is 12 meters long and specially designed to provide diagnostic and preventive medical services. It has a waiting room and two well-equipped doctor’s offices, one of which is specially for ophthalmologist consultations with all the necessary diagnostic equipment.

The Mobile Health Care Centre also provides medical examinations for children living in social centres and orphanages, as well as for children in public care.
